Archangels Sts. Michael, Raphael and Gabriel:

Today the Church celebrates the feast of the Archangels Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, three of the seven angels who stand before God. According to Scriptures, these angels are servants and messengers of God who “continually see the face of my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:10) and are the “mighty ones who do his bidding, obedient to his spoken word” (Psalm 103:20).

Archangel Saint Michael whose name literally means “Who is like God?” is the leader of the heavenly hosts in the war against the spirits of darkness. “The angel replied, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and have been sent to speak to you.” Luke 1:19.
